For the 23rd year the annual Mangawhai Ladies Classic 4’s was held over the weekend of 3rd & 4th December. Thirty teams of 4 from Waikato, South Auckland, Auckland, North Harbour, Northland and the Far North competed over the 2 days – playing 2 games of 4’s and 2 games of pairs each day.
Due to the inclement weather on day one the second game of fours had to be abandoned after three ends. Thunder, lightning and torrential rain meant it was impossible to complete the program. All credit to our lady bowlers who played their first game of fours and cross over pairs in-between torrential rain and miserable conditions. Thunder and lightning didn’t phase our ladies !
Day two was a brighter day with only a few heavy showers and very gusty winds disrupting play.
