For the 22nd year the annual Mangawhai Ladies Classic 4’s was held this week.
30 teams of 4 competed over 2 days – playing 2 games of 4’s and 2 games of pairs each day.
A huge amount of organisation goes into running this tournament and it would not be possible without our sponsors, classic committee and volunteers who worked tirelessly to make sure it was, once again, a classic to remember.
Firstly to our sponsors: Barfoot and Thompson, Mangawhai Branch and the Mangawhai Club. Thank you.
Your sponsorship of the Ladies Classic has allowed us to continue to offer, and increase, the prizes and prize-money to our successful bowlers and lucky raffle participants.
To the classic committee, Recorders, Umpire, Raffle Ticket sellers, Kitchen and clean up staff – thank you for your tireless efforts. It’s a long two days. Your time and willingness to help is very much appreciated.
We enjoyed hosting teams from Kerepehi, South Auckland, Auckland, North Harbour, Northland and the Far North. For those of you who travelled and stayed in Mangawhai for the tournament we hope you enjoyed your break away. If any of you are thinking of moving to this magical town – make “Barfoots” your first port of call.
